Wrapping up Summer
Share
As an active audacious senior citizen on a budget, wrapping up the summer doesn't have to mean the end of the fun! Set some plans in motion to keep the fun going. Here are 10 ways to keep the party going without breaking the bank:
1. Host a potluck BBQ with friends and family ๐๐ญ
Potlucks are always fun. Good friends, family, neighbors breaking bread with each other. You get to show off your cooking skills, you get to reconnect with friends and family and a good potluck won't cost you much.
2. Take advantage of senior discounts at local attractions and restaurants ๐๏ธ
We took advantage of the "after glow" of the Olympics in Paris 2024. We arrived from the U.S. just as the Olympics were ending. I got my favorite Olympics tee shirt for $10. We also went in August. This is contrary to what "experienced travelers do. They like to avoid Paris and London in August because it is hot. We loved going in August. Less people.
3. Plan a day trip to a nearby beach or park for some outdoor fun ๐๏ธ

4. Organize a movie night with a classic film marathon ๐ฅ
ย
5. Start a book club with fellow seniors to keep your mind sharp ๐
ย
6. Join a local fitness class or walking group to stay active and social ๐ช๐ถ
7. Volunteer at a community event or organization to give back and stay engaged ๐ค
8. Have a game night with board games or card games for some friendly competition ๐ฒโ ๏ธ
9. Explore new hobbies or crafts like painting, knitting, or gardening ๐จ๐งถ๐ฟ
10. Plan a day of pampering at home with DIY spa treatments and relaxation techniques ๐๐โโ๏ธ
