From Autism to Honors — Jordan’s Audacious Rise
Our son, Jordan, was born with autism. When he started school, we were told that we should put him in special schools for those who are autistic. We decided to keep him in the regular Los Angeles school District. People have a lot of good and bad things to say about LAUSD, but we feel that we now owe a lot to LAUSD. As a student with autism, Jordan excelled academically in LAUSD. While in regular school, Jordan achieved a black belt in Taekwondo. He went to a Taekwondo studio in the San Fernando Valley called "Power of the Arts owned by Sherri Sharma. A couple of nights ago, Jordan Anthony Griffin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge. He graduated with Honors. Autism is not less; it is just different.
